PILLOWS
Our silk pillows are woven for us in Thailand by master craftsmen who use techniques that are centuries old. The brilliant colors and amazing iridescence that they achieve in the weaving was almost a lost art in the beginning of the twentieth century. In the 1950’s a renewed Thai silk industry brought the fabrics to international attention – and restored their position among the finest fabrics in the world.
Our pillow stuffers have the look and feel of down. With a 200 thread count 65% polyester/35% cotton chintz cover, and poly-fill supreme fiber fill, they are plump, washable, resilient and easy to handle. The pillows are available in 16” and 18” sizes in most styles. The basket weave design effectively highlights the sheen of iridescence present in the opposite weaves of the silk. A tailored 2” border adds a sophisticated edge to the other style.
Our silk pillow covers have a hidden, high quality zipper. All are 100% silk, made exclusively for East Indies Home in Thailand and may be dry cleaned. The embroidered silks have a contemporary feel with brilliant Tropical colors and lines of fine embroidery on the surface.
